  The Nurse Practitioner – Infectious Diseases works as an educator, advocate and care provider and is responsible for the care and well-being of HIV infected patients with independent oversight of a large panel of patients. In addition, provides care to non-HIV patients to provide Pre-Exposure Prophalaxis (PrEP) and Nonoccupational Post Exposure Prophylaxis (nPEP). Also, the NP will focus on collaborative care of general Infectious Diseases patients by expanding  into seeing  non-HIV Infectious Diseases patients, such as osteomyelitis, follow up of hospital discharge, etc.

The Hospitalist will report to the Hospitalist Medical Director. Hospitalists are engaged in managing the clinical problems of acutely ill, hospitalized patients.  The hospitalist will provide teaching, research, and/or leadership in the field of hospital medicine.   Hospitalist physicians will provide clinical care for patients admitted at Eskenazi Hospital, support surgical and specialty services through consultative general internal medicine practice, and teach staff, graduate medical trainees, and medical students on inpatient educational rotations.
