Overview

The Clinical Coordinator Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) will provide leadership and input into the issues surrounding APPs within the Eskenazi Health NICU. This position will function as liaison between NICU APPs and the Eskenazi Health NICU, Eskenazi Medical Group, and Eskenazi Health Family Beginnings. The Clinical Coordinator NP will continue to actively work within the NICU, but will have time set aside for administrative responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Collaborate actively to work with the NICU Medical Director and Clinical Director to set the plan, goals and evaluation of the Level 3 NICU care
• Complete scheduling for APPs working in the NICU ensuring adequate coverage at all times.
• Acts as first line of communication for the NICU APPs. The Clinical Coordinator NP will then report to the EH Lead APP, NICU team, and EMG leadership as appropriate
• Act as the liaison between the NICU APPs and the Family Beginnings Nursing Director, the NICU Medical Director, EH Lead APP, and EMG Leadership.
• Will attend Family Beginnings and NICU Service Line meetings representing the NICU APPs.
• Promote positive, effective communication, collaboration, and teamwork with the entire NICU team and the entire department for the benefit of patient care.
• Works with the NICU Medical Director, Clinical Director, the Clinical Mangers, staff, and NICU APPs to assist with the coordination of the education plan and timeline for the NICU APPs.
• May delegate coordination activities to other NICU APPs as needed.
• Engages in evaluation process of the NICU APPs.
• Provide quality patient care in the NICU.
• Perform all responsibilities as required and outlined in the Nurse Practitioner job description (JD-600) and the NICU Addendum.

 

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner experience within the Eskenazi Health NICU preferred.
